Drawing inspiration from last year's Hyper Pop Campaign this new mixed media editioned artwork ‘Headspace’ is drawn from the final original installation from the widely recognised campaign that finished at auction with Bonhams. This newly formatted studio worked edition carries forward its legacy and symbolises its influential reach. Moreover, each Legacy Edition sold contributes to a noble cause, with a studio donation to the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) with every edition sold. These funds support CALM's crucial work in suicide prevention across the UK, continuing the campaign's commitment to making a significant difference. Headspace paints an intriguing image of a figure in a suit, their face hidden behind a vibrant collage of pop culture symbols, each imbued with layers of suggestible meaning. The piece draws its roots from René Magritte’s 1964 'Son of Man' painting, a piece that Magritte himself defined as a clash between the seen that is hidden and the seen that is evident. The artist, Lhouette, believes that this tension mirrors the challenges posed by the digital and social media age on our mental wellbeing. The artwork probes into the concept of identity and raises questions about the kind of information we should be feeding our minds with. The Headspace Legacy Editions are available to purchase from an exclusive number our partner galleries, and are now on display with Wyecliffe Galleries in their Surrey showroom, at Arkley Fine Art's Urban Contemporary Exhibition in Hitchin (Hertfordshire), and will feature with TAG Fine Arts centre stage at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, London this weekend.
